THE
LAMBDA LETTER
FALL 2015 ALUMNI NEWSLETTER OF THE LAMBDA CHAPTER OF SIGMA CHI
O
ne of my favorite times of the year is upon us—fall: a
season filled with Homecoming, football games, and
visits to Indiana University. When I'm back in Bloomington
and immersed in the Hoosiers atmosphere, I immediately
think about my time as a Sigma Chi. My membership
in the Fraternity defined my college experience
and provided me with lifelong friends. I can't
imagine what my undergraduate days would
have been like without Lambda Chapter,
and as I inevitably drive past the Chapter
House, I realize how important it is that our
organization continues to influence today's
young men.
Once again, the Lambda Executive Committee
used the summer months to keep our Chapter
House in excellent condition. When the active
members returned in August, they were impressed with the
results. The improvements included:
• Completing of our courtyard project, with seating and a
small area that can serve as a stage
• Adding additional beds and closet space to accommodate
the increase of live-in members
• Remodeling the third-floor bathroom
• Updating access points for our wireless Internet
• Additionally, we also hired a new food service company,
Francis Culinary Creations
As alumni, we have worked together to ensure Sigma
Chi's legacy at Indiana University. You may not realize
it, but our gifts are more than an investment in our
physical structure; they are an investment in
the young men of Lambda. The dividends
show themselves as young Sigma Chis who
graduate and are better individuals as a result
of their undergraduate experience. They go
on to live honestly and honorably, creating
a better society in which our children and
grandchildren will live.
Our efforts to keep our Chapter strong will
only be successful if every alumnus participates,
whether it is with time, talent, or treasure. We welcome
your questions, input, and involvement. Thanks to everyone
who has stepped up. Keep Sigma Chi a part of your life. Keep
in contact, get involved, and keep creating the memories.
