Saturday, March 31, 2012 – Daily News The following defendants were sentenced in Tehama County Superior Court, according to the Tehama County District Attor- ney's Office: COURT ROUND-UP —————— Recent State Prison Commitments • Francisco Lopez-Alvarado was sentenced to five years in state prison and Ramiro Chavez-Lopez was sentenced to 12 years in state prison in connection with an attempted robbery. Lopez-Alvarado was sentenced for the charges of first degree burglary-person present, special allegation use of deadly weapon. Chavez-Lopez was sentenced for the charges of attempt: first degree residential robbery, special allegation-personal use of a firearm. The Defendants went to victim's residence to attempt a rob- bery. As one of the victims opened the door, Chavez-Lopez pulled out a gun and ordered two of the victims to the ground at gun point. A third victim was able to escape out a back door and contact the police. When the defendants realized the police had been contacted they fled the residence and were later located along with a revolver, mask and duct tape which was located in defendant's vehicle. • Rochelle Reanna Burnette was sentenced to four years in state prison for assault with a deadly weapon, special allegation- prior strike. Burnette and victim had been arguing when Burnette grabbed a rock and hit the victim in the head. The victim was treated at the hospital and received eight staple to his head. • Rogelio Samuel McDarment was sentenced to three years in state prison for corporal injury to spouse. Officers responded to a residence in regards to a disturbance. Upon arrival they contacted the victim who was holding a bloody towel and had a lump over her eye. Upon investigating the inci- dent officers determined the victim and McDarment had been in an argument which escalated when McDarment punched the vic- tim twice in the head. • Holly Michelle Newman was sentenced to two years and eight months in state prison for evading an officer, willful disre- gard, special allegation-offense while on bail or O.R., receiving stolen property, motor vehicle. An officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle dri- ven by Newman. Before the officer was able to make contact with Newman she fled and a pursuit ensued. The officer pursued New- man until she drove up an embankment and flipped her vehicle. The officer pulled Newman from the vehicle and took her into custody. The officer was advised the vehicle Newman was dri- ving had been stolen. • Colby Lee Bock was sentenced to two years and eight months in state prison for possession of a controlled substance, special allegation-prior strike. An officer contacted Bock after observing him riding his bicy- cle at night without a light. The officer confirmed Bock was on parole and conducted a search. Inside Bock's backpack the offi- cer located methamphetamine. • Cynthia Leann Fox was sentenced to two years in state prison for possession for sale of a controlled substance. An undercover agent made arrangements to purchase metham- phetamine from Fox's companion. Fox and her companion both arrived at the arranged meeting with the methamphetamine and were detained by police. Agents then obtained a search warrant and conducted a search of Fox's residence and located additional methamphetamine, packaging material and digital scales. • Larry Norman Dixon was sentenced to two years in state prison for evading an officer, willful disregard. Dixon was originally granted formal probation. He violated his probation when he failed to obey all laws and was arrested and charged in a separate case with evading an officer. • Jesse Aaron Loughmiller was sentenced to two years in state prison for second degree commercial burglary. Loughmiller was originally granted formal probation. He vio- lated his probation when he failed to keep in contact with proba- tion and failed to appear for scheduled appointments. Recent County Jail Commitments • Jamie Paul Damonte-Lindt was sentenced to 120 days in Tehama County Jail for D.U.I. Causing Injury. Damonte-Lindt was driving on Hogsback Road when he hit a bump causing the victim to fall out of the bed of his pickup and land on the ground. Victim was rushed to the hospital with severe bleeding to his head and eventually succumbed to his injuries. • Kalia Rose Crawford was sentenced to 90 days in Tehama County Jail for unlawful sexual intercourse. Crawford was 21 at the time she began a sexual relationship with the 14 year old victim. Crawford eventually became preg- nant with the victim's child. Recent Proposition 36 Commitments Note: All cases wherein a defendant is sentenced per the terms of Proposition 36 are not at the request of the Tehama County District Attorney's Office. Per the requirements of Proposition 36, a defendant who possesses drugs cannot be sentenced to con- finement time in jail or prison. Instead, the court must place defendant on probation and require drug treatment alone. Per the requirements of Proposition 36, only upon a third drug related probation violation may the court impose confinement time. In the event the defendant violates a non-drug related term of pro- bation the court may then elect to sentence defendant to jail or prison. The Tehama County District Attorney's Office contends that each criminal case is unique and that in certain, specific, cases a defendant should be sentenced to a combination of drug treat- ment and jail time. We further contend that in other specific cases where a defendant has an extensive criminal record and/or a history of non-compliance with either previous grants of proba- tion or previous grants of drug treatment, a state prison sentence should properly be imposed. • Joseph Kelly Ward Sr. was sentenced to Prop. 36 probation for possession of a controlled substance. An officer responded to a hotel where it was reported Ward had been walking around the halls nude. The officer contacted Ward in his room and observed him to be clothed at that time. The officer conducted a search of Ward and located methamphet- amine in his pocket. Motorist dressed as Batman escapes ticket in Md. ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) — Police in Maryland pulled over a motorist dressed as Batman, but the caped crusader escaped without a ticket. Authorities pulled over the driver of a black Lamborghini with Batman logo tags last week in Silver Spring outside Washington. The driver was dressed as the Dark Knight — cape, mask and all. Police, however, weren't impressed and wanted to talk to him about his superhero logo license plate, which isn't an approved plate in the state. The driver, who goes by Lenny B. Robinson when not dressed as a superhero to visit sick children at hospitals, was able to show them a proper license plate for the car. A video of the stop shows police officers shaking his hand and taking pictures of him with his ride. NO- TICE TO POTENTIAL BIDDERS: If you are considering bidding on this property lien, you should understand that there are risks involved in bidding at a trustee auction. You will be bidding on a lien, not on the property itself. Placing the highest bid at a trustee auction does not auto- matically entitle you to free and clear ownership of the property. You should also be aware that the lien being auctioned off may be a junior lien. If you are the highest bidder at the auction, you are or may be responsible for paying off all liens senior to the lien being auctioned off, be- fore you can receive clear title to the property. You are encour- aged to investigate the exis- tence, priority, and size of out- standing liens that may exist on this property by contacting the county recorder's office or a ti- tle insurance company, either of which may charge you a fee for this information. If you consult either of these resources, you should be aware that the same lender may hold more than one mortgage or deed of trust on the property. NOTICE TO PROPERTY OWNER: The sale date shown on this notice of sale may be post- poned one or more times by the mortgagee, beneficiary, trustee, or a court, pursuant to Section 2924g of the California Civil Code. The law requires that in- formation about trustee sale postponements be made availa- ble to you and to the public, as a courtesy to those not present at the sale. If you wish to learn whether your sale date has been postponed, and, if applicable, the rescheduled time and date for the sale of this property, you may call (714) 573-1965 or or vis- it this Internet Web site www.priorityposting.com, using the file number assigned to this case 11-15199. Information about postponements that are very short in duration or that oc- cur close in time to the sched- uled sale may not immediately be reflected in the telephone in- formation or on the Internet Web site. The best way to verify postponement information is to attend the scheduled sale.
