ALPHA OMICRON CHAPTER OF ALPHA DELTA PI AT OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY FALL 2015 The I t has been another exciting year at 1309 W. University. After a busy summer, we welcomed 64 new members to AO—quota plus two! Fall has been filled with AO events, including our alumnae reunion in September and our Open House during Homecoming Walkaround; we have welcomed many alumnae back to campus. The Greek community remains very strong at OSU, as I am sure you can tell when touring the campus—there is construction of Greek houses on every street with plans "in the works" for many more! Housing has been an important issue for AO for several years now, and the House Corporation (HC) Board continues to strategize about moving ahead with an expansion. We want to find the best way to offer a modern, spacious facility that best serves the needs of Greek women on OSU's campus. The goal of the HC Board continues to be providing the best learning, living, and leading environment that we can for active members. Although nothing visible is happening yet, a lot of dedicated alumnae are working diligently in the background to complete the initial research phases to ensure a bright and competitive future for AO. One of the first exciting changes the HC Board made was the launching of our alumnae relations program and this newsletter! We've seen great success so far, and many women are stepping up to get involved. We are actively trying to find our "lost" alumnae and we would appreciate your help in getting their contact information. The current collegiate members, Advisors, and HC Board are committed to investing in this biannual newsletter to keep alumnae informed and connected to the Chapter as well as to OSU. We hope you are enjoying the fall and spring editions annually! HC Board Strategizes Best Possible Solutions for Housing AO to Create Long-term Plan As we continue down this path of planning for AO's future, I want to invite all alumnae to be a part of it. As we assess our growing membership, Greek housing trends, and competition on campus, we value your input. We began in spring 2013 polling both collegiate and alumnae members about our facility needs, and have since compiled groups of women to serve on various committees to help with the cause. As the HC Board and alumnae committees continue to research and plan, our hope would be to have the project completed by AO's 100th anniversary celebration in September 2021. We hope to have more specific plans and details available to share with you in the coming year. I want to extend violets to all of the many alumnae who have served on various committees and boards researching this project and supporting AO. Without their tireless commitment and dedication to AO, none of this could have been achieved so far. Please join our AO Facebook page for current happenings at AO, OSU Greek Life, and on campus. Special thanks to Whitney Wilson Turner '97 for her significant updates, as well as the contributions of Shari Seibert Arnold '82 and Betsey Ricker Weaver '93. Join our Facebook community to reconnect with the Chapter and ADPi sisters; get informed and get involved! We all "came home to ADPi" in different eras and many of us are still actively connected to ADPi sisters and alumnae groups. I continue to receive alumnae requests to host mini-reunions at the Chapter house, which illustrates that AO is the link that ties our alumnae together. While the expansion plans under consideration directly impact the collegiate members and AO's continued success on campus, it also provides a place for alumnae to gather and reconnect. Let's renew our commitment that ADPi is for a lifetime and make sure that opportunity continues at the Alpha Omicron Chapter for past, present, and future members. Thanks for your support.
