S till Loyal, Still True…..For this year's OSU Homecoming we paired with the men of Alpha Tau Omega. The directors chose the theme "Time is the Greatest Distance." Everyone did a great job designing and building a fantastic house decoration, participating in Football Frenzy, the Harvest Carnival where kids took down the Jayhawks at our Angry Birds-inspired slingshot game, painting the town orange for "the walk", and creating our sign which incorporated license plates to represent the many places our alumnae live after OSU. We had over 100 alumnae attend the Open House during Walkaround. It was fun to see all the reunions and reconnections. We intend for the Open House to be an annual tradition, so plan to come next year and reconnect with the house and other alumnae. "One of the many personal benefits I received from attending the Convention was getting to meet sisters from across the country and Canada. I also had the distinct privilege and honor in escorting Mrs. Linda Welch Ablard '72, one of the international executive officers who attended Oklahoma State and was an Alpha Omicron. Over the course of the four days I participated in numerous learning events as well as social events, which quickly developed the sisterhood of the group. Some of the highlights include: • We held a mock initiation and as a result, I learned that we are doing a few small details wrong. I am so excited to show you what I learned and how to perfect our initiation. • I went to a very interesting breakout session and learned a fun activity which illustrates that no matter how many positive things you tell someone/a sister, once you are negative to them and break them down with hurtful words, they will never be the same. • I also had an amazing opportunity to participate in a new program 'Taking a Stand: Preventing Sexual Misconduct on Campus' that will eventually be shared with all the Alpha Delta Pi chapters." – Kaela Ibrahim '13, AO Chapter President
