Page 6 Thomas "Tommie" G. Wright '40 entered Chapter Grand on May 8, 2014. Tommie served in the Air Force during World War II and later pursued a career in music. In addition to being a concert pianist, he composed and performed for NBC, toured with the Tommy Dorsey Band, and created a one-man performance based on the music of George Gershwin, which he performed throughout the country and abroad. In 1949, Wright accepted a position at Florida State University, where, over the course of a 59-year career, he taught over 58,000 students and mentored more than 500 piano majors and graduate students and wrote the FSU Fight Song. In 2012, he received an honorary doctorate from Florida State and served as a goodwill ambassador for the alumni association. He was a kind and generous man and a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. Wright is survived by his wife of 33 years, Dr. Rosalinda Wright; five daughters, Candace Springer and her husband, Ed, The Honorable Cynthia Wright, Jessica Applegate and her husband, Mark, Desiree Bowen and her husband, Chuck Bowen, and Nicole Wright; and eight grandchildren. Harold Kenneth "Hal" Light '43 entered Chapter Grand on December 18, 2014. Hal was an FBI special agent who oversaw construction of the FBI Academy at Quantico, and also was the agent tapped by FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover to manage the extradition of James Earl Ray to the United States from London, where he had been arrested as the alleged assassin of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. He joined the FBI in 1948 after graduating with a degree in business administration, attended law school, and served in World War II. An expert marksman and initially a firearms instructor at the FBI Academy, he once split a bullet on the blade of an ax on a children's TV show. He retired from the FBI in 1972 and moved to Newark, where he became associate director of the Delaware Museum of Natural History in Wilmington. He was appointed chairman of the Delaware State Council on Police Training, served on the Delaware State Public Safety Committee, was a member of the Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI, and received the Governor's Outstanding Volunteer Award in recognition of his service on behalf of the Evergreen Alzheimer's Day Center in 2005. His first wife, Jean Maxine Light, died in 1995. His second wife, Frances Light, died in 2006, and son, Tom Light, died in 1968. He is survived by three children, Terry Light, Nancy Light McGarry, and Joanne Light; his sister; and five grandchildren. Howard L. Manifold '48 entered Chapter Grand June 25 at the age of 88. Born October 22, 1926, in Mooreland, Ind., he is the son of the late Everett and Jeanette White Manifold. At Butler University Sweeny Chapel, he married Barbara Ellen Myers Manifold on June 4, 1950; she passed away in 2010. He was a member of the Murat Shrine, Scottish Rite, and First Presbyterian Church. He had been employed at Kenneth J. Galm Inc. in Indianapolis as a salesman. He is survived by his daughter, Betsy Manifold; sons, David Scott Manifold and wife, Angela, and Dr. Rev. Everett Manifold and wife, Dr. Julie Von Someren; brother, Walter L. Manifold; grandchildren, Tanya and Scott Manifold and Brett, Jackie, and Case Manifold. Donald Ray Hotze '50 entered Chapter Grand on Febuary 13, 2012, at the age of 88. Don "Pappy" graduated from Franklin Township High School in 1941 and was a cheerleader at Franklin Township. He had a 7-UP distribution route for more than two decades and retired as a salesman from Huntington Laboratories at the age of 72. He was a member of Acton United Methodist Church. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Lawrence Hotze, in 1997. He is survived by his daughter, Sherri Hotze Birk; granddaughters, Danyell Scott Wiley and Toniya Scott Waterman; and great- grandchildren, Gianna Waterman, Delilah Waterman, and Ella Wiley. Don also is survived by his sister, Myra Hotze Carpenter, and sister-in-law, Janet Lawrence Kehrt. Robert S. Feezle '50 joined Chapter Grand on February 10. Bob Feezle was born in Indianapolis, Ind. He served in the U.S. Navy on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Antietam during World War II. Bob was a Cadillac specialist— selling Cadillacs for over 50 years. He was a master manager, which is a top distinction from Cadillac. As a salesman, he was in the top 1% of the United States in sales. Bob was a member of Indianapolis Jaycees and Downtown Optimist Club, President of the Deerfield Beach Rotary Club, Paul Harris Fellow, served on the Executive Committee of the Ft. Lauderdale Symphony, the Board of Directors of the Ft. Lauderdale Boys' Club, the Board of Polk County Symphony, the Boys' Clubs of Lakeland, Fla., and served as President of the Lakeland Auto Dealers Association. He is survived his wife of 35 years, Andrea; son, Tim; step-son, Charles Dawson; three granddaughters; two great- granddaughters; three brothers; and two sisters. Patrick W. Reed '50 entered Chapter Eternal of October 19, 2015. Born May 14, 1928 in Noblesville, Indiana he was the son of Frank and Helen Reed. He attended Butler University for two years where he was cut from the football team by Tony Hinkle, but later rang his doorbell to take his daughter on a date. Tony said, "What are you doing here, Noblesville?" In 1948, he went to work at Firestone, retiring in 1990. In 1952, he married Jean Martz and bought his only home where he died on Monday. He was an Indy 500 yellow shirt volunteer in the '50s. He became a realtor in 1960, working for Aldred and Mallory, Max Robinson, Ayers, and F.C. Tucker until 2015. A 50-year golfer, he was a member of The Elks, First Christian Church, served on the city council, and served for 25 years on the Park Board and Planning Commission, which earned him the title of 2013 July 4th Parade Grand. Preceded in death by his wife, Jean, and is survived by son, Mike Reed; granddaughter, Mercedes; sister, Sue Ann Essig; and sister-in-law, Ann Martz Kerlin.
