ThIrd Whole man scholarshIp
Thomas J. Fry '79 Invests in Scholarship Fund
K
nown to his era Fraternity Brothers as "Tommy Joe" or
"T.J.," Thomas J. Fry '79 graduated with a degree in
pharmacy, held several leadership positions in Indiana Gamma,
including Chapter president, and was a collegian athlete swimming
for the Butler varsity swim team. Tommy Joe was also a significant
donor in the successful capital campaign that completed last fall.
Since graduating, Tommy Joe has enjoyed a successful career in the
pharmaceutical and health care industry and is currently a regional
manager at Aerocare Holdings, a national home medical equipment
products and services provider headquartered in Orlando, Florida.
With Tommy Joe's contribution to the Whole Man Scholarship
program, Indiana Gamma now has a total of three scholarships supporting the National Fraternity
scholarship program, specifically directed to local undergraduate chapters and funded by local
alumni. This particular scholarship provides two essential deliverables for our Indiana Gamma
undergraduate members, selected on an annual basis in perpetuity. First, it offers participation
in the annual Kleberg Emerging Leaders Institute, where undergraduate recipients will learn and
understand about student leadership and ethics at the institute held each summer at GHQ in Oxford,
Ohio. Second, the scholarship provides tuition assistance to those same undergraduate recipients
participating in the Kleberg Emerging Leaders Institute.
We are incredibly thankful to Tommy Joe for supporting this third Whole Man Scholarship for
Indiana Gamma undergraduates. Later this year you will receive a letter asking for your support
for more scholarship opportunities. We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to
pay it forward to future generatios of Phi Delta Theta!
