Bring the kids Downtown for Trick-or-Treating on Saturday, October 30th, sponsored by SFL+A Architects and Halloween Express! Participating Downtown shops and restaurants will be passing out candy to the li‚ le ones starting at 4 p.m. Bring the kids so they can load up on candy and dress up as their favorite characters, and you'll be able to meet the shop and restaurant owners of Downtown! Who knows, you may just fi nd your new favorite store. And don't forget that the fun extends beyond Hay Street! Check out the businesses on side streets for even more great stores (and candy!). This month's 4th Friday will be on October 23rd. Join the unique tradition of the Zombie Walk, sponsored by Halloween Express! Whether you choose to dress up or just watch, it will be a creepy and fun experience you won't forget! Also, this year the Dogwood Fall Festival has something for everyone. Presented by BudLight, the festival will be taking place Thursday, October 22 through Saturday, October 24 and features live entertainment, food, and fun. Thrill seekers will be sure to enjoy the Lafaye‚ te Insane Asylum. A unique twist on the traditional haunted house, this haunted maze in Festival Park begins at the gate on Ray Avenue and takes participants through the park, scaring them at every twist and turn. Tickets are $8, or $7 with a can good donation, which will benefi t local food banks. Proceeds this year will benefi t Fishing to Fight Caner, a St. Jude initiative. Are you brave enough to take part in Historic Hauntings? Those who dare can embark on a guided walking tour in the dark through the woods at Cross Creek. This spooky, historical tour features ghostly re-enactors and storytellers who tell the creepy stories of Faye‚ eville's history. "What makes it diœ erent from the Haunted House is that these are true Faye‚ eville oddities and haunting stories from Faye‚ eville's history," said Carrie King, Executive Director of the Dogwood Festival. "Bruce Dawes will take patrons through a guided walking tour with artifacts and stories sca‚ ered through the woods, making this an intimate trail experience." For those craving something a li‚ le less spooky, the festival will also feature 20-30 minute narrated hayrides. Departing from the corner of Mason and Ray Avenue, the wagons will take riders through Downtown and Cross Creek Cemetery.
