The museum is specif ically designed to teach children about t he world t hrough f un and engaging exhibit s t hat mimic real life sit uat ions. These exhibit s are interact ive, designed to be touched and played w it h mak ing learning a f un and nat ural process. For 4th Friday's t he museum is open late and admission is f ree. There is also a f ree craf t for k ids to t ake home. The Ar t s Council's new exhibit, Recycle: The Art of Transformation opens Oct . 23 during 4t h Friday. The exhibit is composed of pieces created by local ar t ist s f rom rec ycled and reused materials. It highlight s t he large amount s of waste carelessly produced and demonst rates how, w it h a lit t le creat iv it y, waste can t ransform into new and beaut if ul t hings. The exhibit runs unt il Dec. 12. The Ar t s Council is located at 301 Hay St . and w ill be open on 4th Friday f rom 7-9 p.m. Admission is f ree. From 6:30-10 p.m., Bands and Brews t akes place in Fest ival Park, located at 225 Ray Ave. For $5 a pint, sample t he10 craf t beers and t wo domest ic beers of fered at t he event . Braver souls w ill want to check out t he annual Lafayet te Insane A sylum outdoor haunted maze, which runs f rom 6:30–11p.m. The haunted maze is located on t he back side of Fest ival Park located at 225 Ray Ave. Ticket s are $8 or $7 w it h a canned good donat ion to benef it t he Dream Center. Proceeds of t his maze benef it Fishing to Fight Cancer hosted by Swampboys. The canned goods received w ill benef it a local food bank . From 6:30–10 p.m., narrated hay rides t hrough dow ntow n Fayet tev ille and Cross Creek Cemeter y of fer a peek into Fayet tev ille's unique histor y.
