p. 3 Sigma Chi CHAPTER RECRUITS 45 MEN T he Gamma Delta Chapter has had another great year. Highlights included receiving another Peterson Blue Award at this year's Balfour Leadership Training Workshop in Bowling Green, Ohio, and being named a Thomas Cowan Bell Chapter, thanks to the generous donations from Chuck Watson '72 and John A. Clerico '63. Chapter Ranks Top 10 for Academics Our academics were strong again last semester as we finished with a 3.101 GPA, ranking us in the top 10 among other chapters on campus. We still have much to improve on with our academics, but we expect to raise our GPA this semester significantly. Campus Involvement and Philanthropy Derby Days was successful again as we raised $15,000 for Huntsman Cancer Research, thanks to the efforts of our brothers and sororities on campus. We hope to raise more than $20,000 this year. Our members have done a great job of improving our involvement on campus. Simon Fangman '16 serves on Oklahoma State's Interfraternity Council as treasurer, and seniors Connor Davis '13 and Kyle Lake '16 became members of Order of Omega this past year. SΧ Recruits 45 Men Recruitment this year resulted in another strong pledge class of 45 new members. We recruited hard in Oklahoma, Texas, and various other states, resulting in a diverse and solid pledge class. Our recruitment chairmen, Evan McMillen '17 and John Neisen '18, did an outstanding job of recruiting great men off of The Jordan Standard. Chapter Activities We won Varsity Revue last spring with the women of Zeta Tau Alpha, a huge accomplishment for our Chapter as we have not won a show in decades. Connor Davis '13 was named Varsity Revue Best Male Director. We are paired with the women of Chi Omega for Homecoming and are excited as we look to place again. Eight of our brothers attended this year's Balfour Leadership Training Workshop in Bowling Green, Ohio. We learned about the Fraternity's new pledge program and came up with a solid strategic plan to help our Chapter go above and beyond this year in all areas. We received new benches on our front porches and a new basketball goal in the gym thanks to the Sigma Chi Parent's Club. We are very grateful and appreciative for their efforts to make our Chapter better. Overall, we are heading in the right direction and continue to improve every day. Our members are excited to be back and our executive team is ready for a great year. We look forward to this year and the growing success in our future.
