THANK YOU, ANNUAL CAMPAIGN DONORS With the many great events the Chapter hosts each year, Fight Night is still extremely important to Matt. He has watched Fight Night grow from an event raising $20,000 to five times that, last year raising more than $100,000. However, Fight Night is not only for undergraduates, but alumni as well. "The easiest and most fun way is to come back to the house for Fight Night each November. Fight Night has turned into our best alumni event and the 'premiere event of west campus,'" Matt said. Matt encourages alumni to not only attend Fight Night, but to become involved with the event. "Participate in events like the alumni speakers series before Fight Night, where alumni give a talk on their career field during the afternoon before at the chapter house," Matt said, "There are alumni from many different eras, so it is a great way to connect with familiar and new brothers, all while being at the Chapter House and supporting cancer research." Sigma Chi was a large driving force for Matt as he began his career in college ministry working with Student Mobilization, or StuMo, at UT. "I first got involved through my undergraduate involvement with this ministry, which came through Sigma Chi. My wife, Megan, and I will also be a part of the initial team launching StuMo at Texas A&M University in the spring of 2016," Matt said. Alpha Nu showed Matt how much potential college students have to make an impact worldwide. The past four years of being an undergraduate member could not have better prepared Matt for the journey ahead. "I'm only a few months removed from college, but through Sigma Chi I gained lifelong friends, met my wife, got my first job, developed as a leader, learned to deal with difficult problems, and much more," Matt said. Matt and Megan have stayed close with the university through their work with StuMo. When not working, Matt enjoys playing sports, coaching youth sports, watching sports, getting involved with their church, and of course, staying involved with the Chapter.
