Always Alpha Phi 4 T he women of Omicron were thrilled to move back into 906 S. Providence this August. Not only because it is our home away from home, but also because it received some major renovations over the summer! Thanks to the generous donations of our alumnae and the hard work of the Omicron House Corporation Board, the basement of the chapter house has been completely remodeled, wonderfully fitting the chapter's needs. Previously, there was no room for all of the in-house members to physically eat in the dining room at the same time because serving carts and other kitchen equipment took up a substantial amount of space. That is no longer the case. All women can comfortably eat together in the dining room and it looks beautiful and fresh with the new floors and wallpaper. It was wonderful to have such a lovely space to use during recruitment. While the room didn't get any bigger, it feels much more spacious. We were also thrilled to find the old "dungeon" turned into a lovely new craft room. There is storage for all of the glitter and paint we use on a near- daily basis for one thing or another. And there is a terrific seating area. Finally, the executive board was excited that part of the basement was turned into a meeting room. In the past, executive meetings had to take place in the living room or the third-floor lounge, which then had to be vacated for the meetings. Neither of these options provided much privacy and they were inconvenient for other members of the chapter. The new meeting room is an improvement for the board meetings and the rest of the chapter. Other wonderful updates done over the summer included a complete kitchen overhaul, a laundry room reconfiguration, repainting of the informal room, and structurally improving the columns on the front of the house. It is a wonderful feeling to come back to such a spectacular historic home and witness how much love, time, and effort went into ensuring we have a safe, beautiful, and updated home to live and study in, where lifetime memories are being made. As we enter the fall semester, we look forward to Homecoming with the men of Delta Tau Delta. We hope that many APhi alumnae come home this year to help celebrate the 104th Homecoming at Mizzou!
