www.ucsigep.org Undergraduates Travel to NYC with Lindner Investment Banking Club O hio Theta undergraduate brothers Patrick Wagner '16, Jeremy Buchanan '18, and Cooper Brown '18 spent their last week of summer in New York City with Lindner Investment Banking Club, a highly prestigious on-campus finance organization of which they are members. While on the four-day trip, the brothers toured and attended a presentation at Bloomberg, networked with a junior banker at Centerview Partners, and met with representatives from the financial sponsors and healthcare investment banking groups at KeyBanc Capital Markets. In addition to this, the three SigEps met with Ryan Hayes '04 and John Kolz '91 to discuss their individual experiences in the chapter as well as their careers in the finance industry. Overall, the three undergraduates had a great experience in the city and plan on returning to meet with more industry professionals during their fall break in mid-October. Brothers serenade their dates at formal last spring. Parents enjoyed touring the renovated chapter house last spring. Ohio Theta was selected to perform the Sigma and Phi rites of passage at Carlson Leadership Academy. We hosted our parents at the new house, learned more about our ritual at Carlson, had brothers become sweethearts for two sororities, and celebrated the history and the opening of the expanded 321 Joselin. Grand Opening Weekend a Success - On May 15, we celebrated the opening of our newly renovated and expanded house with hundreds of alumni. The weekend was filled with fantastic programming, including an Epsilon rite of passage on Friday night, the ribbon cutting on Saturday morning, and the celebration that evening. Thank you to all who were able to make it, and if you were unable to, I hope to see you at the house this fall. Parents Tour Chapter House - This spring, the active chapter invited their parents over to show them the new house. We also hosted a cookout and gave a presentation on our collegiate achievements thus far. The evening concluded with a casino night in the new chapter room. Undergraduates Lead Rite of Passage at Carlson - At Carlson Leadership Academy last semester, the undergraduates were selected to perform the Sigma and Phi rite of passages in front of more than 400 attendants. We sent nearly 30 undergraduates to learn more about the national fraternity and help perform the rite of passages. SigEp Sweethearts - Over the past semester, we had two brothers voted to become sorority sweethearts. Jacob Blizzard '18 will be supporting and representing Phi Sigma Rho as Mr. Phi Rho. Will Spellman '17 will be supporting and representing Kappa Delta as their Daggerman. I am very proud of what this chapter has accomplished this past semester. We look forward to housing more than 50 brothers this fall, including a resident scholar. I am very thankful for the support from alumni and parents throughout these several months. I look forward to seeing you all at football tailgates and alumni events.
