DePauw Phi THE I N D I A N A Z E T A C H A P T E R O F P H I D E L T A T H E T A 446 Anderson Street Sees $1.3 Million in Upgrades, Wins Chapter House of the Year FALL 2015 A t this summer's Emerging Leaders Institute on the Miami University campus, Indiana Zeta once again received recognition for the work of undergraduates, staff, and volunteers. In addition to the Chapter's citations, our home was named Chapter House of the Year! Hearing this is great news for all of the generous alumni who have trusted the House Corporation and undergraduates. As we have made more than $1.3 million in upgrades over the past few years, you should be proud that your Chapter continues to be recognized. The Phi Delts have returned to the DePauw campus for the fall and are optimistic about another great year. There was, however, little rest at 446 Anderson Street over the past few months as upgrades and routine maintenance took place. To remain competitive and provide greater comfort to the members and staff alike, air conditioning was added to the kitchen and dining room. We hope to move into other areas of the Chapter House to reduce the need for an aging boiler as well as eliminate window air conditioning units. Only then can we address adding more historic-looking windows to the original house—especially those facing Anderson Street. The last bathroom to see upgrades was also remodeled. As the new addition is now 53 years old, that head needed much work. All-new epoxy-composite poured flooring and shower walls replaced the cracked and stained tile. All-new commodes and urinals with auto flushing were added. Now the men have three floors of clean, modern restrooms. Our basement bum room—what most know as the old Chapter room—had new floors and fresh paint applied. Of a more pedestrian nature, the 90-year-old, cracked sidewalk in front was also replaced. Indiana Zeta never rests. We thank each of you for your support in retaining our competitive position on campus for generations to come. Yours in the Bond, Darrell Johnson '85 House Corporation President djohnson20@cinci.rr.com Chris "CJ" Johnston '83 Chapter Adviser cl.johnston@yahoo.com See pictures from reunion weekend 2015 on page 2!
