It is that time of year, 105+ degrees for a little while yet. The clear nights are beautiful though with 78-88 degrees, pretty nice I'd say. The Fall Season will bring more news and Rotary Doings since this is our quieter time in being of service to our community in one way or another throughout the summer months. That brings us to the new Quartzsite Area Chamber of Com- merce & Tourism (QACC&T) just forming and in its infancy. It is not totally ready yet but keep looking out for more news as the weeks progress. On Wednesday, August 5th, Quartzsite Rotary "hosted" the 2nd monthly Business Mixer at the AWC-Learning Center at 6 - 8 pm. We all had a great time of meeting and greeting, chatting and telling each other what was going on with the existing and new organizations such as ours, the VFW, Friends of the Food Bank along with news from existing businesses and newer ones such as SisterlyLv's Basket Showplace and Roth's Aquaponics Systems. Who came? Many business owners and organizations came and this included a Board Mem- ber from the Business Chamber as well. The Mixer was catered by Lyle and Maria's Lone Steer Cater- ing. Yum! Smoked pulled pork or chicken on a roll with potato salad and cowboy beans. Along with beverages and cake for dessert, we all had fun and tasty food. We fi nished with friendly communi- cation, a great gathering of town folks and terrifi c raffl e prizes at the end. Rotary doings VFW Post 769 VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS 120 S.
