THURSDAY, AUGUST 6 STAGVILLE; BLACK AND WHITE: The exhibit at Museum of the Cape Fear features black and white images taken by photographer Brenda Scott of Stagville State Historic Site in Durham, and includes 64 photographs..The exhibit will run through September 13, 2015. Admission is free. You can find more information on Stagville at www.stagville.org. . the arsenal complex eventually encompassed more than 100 acres at the top of Haymount Hill. The facility was destroyed by Union troops under the command of William T. Sherman in March of 1865, 150 years ago. Volunteer intern Ben Herndon will conduct the walking tours. Beginning at 1 p.m. prior to each tour, he will greet visitors in the Civil War gallery on the second floor of the Museum of the Cape Fear where they can view artifacts from the Arsenal including the museum's collection of Fayetteville Rifles.
