MUNICIPAL AIRPORT Reconstructionclosescafe By Julie Zeeb jzeeb@redbluffdailynews.com @DN_Zeeb on Twitter RED BLUFF Bend Elementary School alumnus Chad Bushnell is giving back to his school in a concert scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, at the school, 22270 Bend Ferry Road. "Chad is an alumni of the Bend School and is putting the concert on for free to sup- port the school," teacher Jenny Walker said. "It's to help sup- port and grow our music pro- gram at Bend. Bushnell got his start in the school's music program, which provided teachers for an elec- tive classes a few times a week, said Donna Bushnell, Chad's mother. The program and the musi- cals held at the school are what inspired both Chad and his sis- ter, Chelsey, to pursue studying music at various levels and ul- timately led to Chad pursuing a career in music, Donna said. Tickets for the event will be $10 each with additional opportunities to support the school provided through a bar- becue dinner prior to the con- cert. Dinner starts at 6 p.m. and will cost about $5 for a hamburger or hot dog meal. Chad Bushnell merchan- dise, including CDs and hats, will be available at the concert.
