www.alpha6294.com Alphabet 4 S emester after semester the Alpha Chap- ter keeps improving, and the spring 2015 semester is no exception to this trend. Some of the goals for the semester were focused on maintaining a competitive GPA and increase our on-campus presence through philanthropy and recruitment. I'm happy to say that through hard work and dedication the men of the Alpha Chap- ter of Theta Xi were able to achieve these goals. Chapter Ranked High in Academics We take academics very seriously at the Alpha Chapter, which is clear by our scholastic achieve- ments. In the fall 2014 semester, we ranked third among all fraternities in GPA with a 3.2 term and 3.17 cumulative—both higher than the all-male and all-Greek GPAs. This trend continued in the spring with Alpha Chapter earning a 3.26 GPA and ranking fourth among all fraternities. This impres- sive academic performance can be credited to the high priority that active members place on school as well as the continued use of the mentor program where younger brothers are paired with senior brothers of the same major to help them through their classes. Brothers Involved on Campus and in the Community Throughout the semester, the Alpha Chapter held a number of events planned by Community Rela- tions Chairman Adrian Pangilinan '16 (A1692). He has coordinated brother involvement with Habitat for Humanity builds, fundraising for the MS Foundation, participation in the MS Walk, and the Dog Days of Finals. The Dog Days of Fi- nals is one of our most popular events, which we cohost with the women of Alpha Gamma Delta. During this event we reach out to local therapy dog owners and have them come to the chapter house. All members of the student body are in- vited to come over to enjoy food and spend time with the dogs to de-stress in the midst of finals. Chapter House to See 14 New Members in the Fall With 12 new members in the fall and two in the spring there will be 14 new brothers moving into the chapter house in the fall. Despite the size- able increase in membership, this by no means implies that we have cut down on quality. I am more than comfortable with the future of the chapter lying in the hands of these men. Alpha Chapter Stronger Than Ever Thanks to Alumni Support From GPA and community service to raising money for our National Service Projects, the Alpha Chapter is always considered among the top. I would like to thank the active members for all their hard work, because without the contri- butions of every single member none of these achievements would have been possible. I would also like to thank all of our alumni for the sup- port that they give us—whether it is financial, emotional, or physical support—your help and guidance have shaped the Alpha Chapter into the amazing chapter it is today. If you're ever in town or would like to visit, we would love to have you! Alpha Chapter proudly donated $600 to MS research. Brothers Paul Meyer '16 (A1690), Alex Pawlak '17 (A1679), Conor Wood '17 (A1684), and Bobby Fohrenback '15 (A1662) spent the day working on a Habitat for Humanity build site.
