Media FROM PAGE 1 The Tehama eLearning Academy class of 2015 in- cluded 25 high school di- ploma candidates. "There will be bad days. I can guarantee that," Carl- son said. "But I can also guarantee that there will be good days. So, when you're job hunting, apply- ing for a job, applying for apartments, going through a breakup or wondering how you're going to get through a few more weeks until your next paycheck, remember that you are never given more than you can handle. And you can handle this." The Tehama eLearn- ing Academy employs a blended academic model, including both online and on-site learning, according to its website. "Our target is any stu- dent who can benefit most from a self-paced, person- alized instruction that is delivered on site or in the home via technology," ac- cording to the website. Keynote speaker Rich DuVarney, the school's su- pervisor and incoming principal and superinten- dent, told the school's grad- uating students that they would become leaders of their communities. "We're counting on you," DuVarney said. "We're counting on you to be tax- payers, we're counting on you to be successful." Outside of the knowl- edge gained in the class- room, he said, success re- quires punctuality, perse- verance and politeness. "You have the opportu- nity to do great things in your life, so make good de- cisions," DuVarney said. "Be a contributor to society, and go forth and do well." Jena MacDonald, who graduated as a sophomore, also delivered remarks dur- ing the graduation cere- mony.
