Ken Lavigne, tenor "The Road to Carnegie Hall" — Nov. 24 Ken Lavigne, an origi- nal member of the Cana- dian Tenors, has charmed his way into the hearts of concert goers across North America with his excit- ing blend of classical tenor sound and modern style. Joined by a four-piece en- semble, Lavigne takes his audience on a riveting jour- ney, retelling his personal campaign to sing at Carne- gie Hall with the New York Pops. Told with spectacular songs and entertaining and hilarious stories, Lavigne embodies the spirit of the underdog — audacity, te- nacity, and ultimately…tri- umph. New York critics said his voice was "liquid gold." North State Symphony Holiday Concert — Dec. 18 The North State Sym- phony's Baroque Ensem- ble, a portion of the full symphony, performs spe- cial Christmas music each year at the State Theatre in Red Bluff. The Bare- foot Movement draws from styles of bluegrass, folk, acoustic rock and Ameri- cana. With original songs, impressive instrumentation and interweaving harmo- nies, this band converges old and new into a style all its own. Local fiddlers won't want to miss this opportu- nity to hear a bit of their genre as well. Axiom Brass — May 21, 2016 Axiom Brass' broadly ap- pealing repertoire includes traditional brass quin- tets, string quartet tran- scriptions, early music and unique arrangements of American and Latin jazz.
