SIGMACHI 3 Chapter Eternal John E. Wilson '43 entered Chapter Eternal March 7, 2014, at age 93, in his home in Carmel, Ind. John was born May 26, 1920, in Fort Wayne to William Edward and Lucille Wilson. He was a 1943 graduate of Indiana University and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. John was president of Wilson Partenheimer Inc. from 1948 until his retirement. He was a founding member, elder and Trustee at Orchard Park Presbyterian Church and also served on the church building committee. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Carmel, a board member of the Boys and Girls Club of Indianapolis and a board member of the Friends of the Carmel Library. David L. Isler '47 entered Chapter Eternal March 11, 2014, at age 89, at his home in Freedom Village in Holland, Mich. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He worked 37 years in his family business, Atkinson & Company, with his stepfather, W. Linton Atkinson, and later retired from Duke and Associates as vice president of human resources. While he was in Indianapolis, he was an active member of Northminster Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder. He enjoyed riding as a member of the Traders Point Hunt Club. Robert L. Beaty '50 entered Chapter Eternal February 11, 2014, at age 86, in Indianapolis, Ind. Bob served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Bob married Marjorie Alice Beard and was employed with Union Federal Savings & Loan Co., retiring as president after 34 years of service. He was an avid golfer and a longtime member of Hillcrest Country Club. Alumni Update Alumni News Millard E. McAtee '49 is living a casual style in retirement at age 88 in Koloa, Hawaii. Jerrold Ellis '54, USAF (Ret.) rode for Sigma Chi in the first Little 500. He still remembers that day and is sure he has a photo of it somewhere. Jerry lives in Lompoc, Calif. Richard K. Albershardt, M.D. '56 is enjoying retirement with his wife, Jill, in Altamonte Spring, Fla., "We will always be Hoosiers." Charles G. Gaston '58 is nearly 78 years old. "Sigma Chi gave me the social experience to get along and keep a positive attitude." Charles lives in Bloomington, Ind. Michael B. Halus '59 and his wife, Gigi, hiked more than 300 miles across northern Spain in spring 2013. He is a novice in the Episcopal Third Order of the Society of St. Francis. Barrett '76 retired from professor emeritus informative systems. He worked at IU, Purdue, and Fort Wayne. Rob lives in Fort Wayne, Ind., with his wife, Pamela. E-mail: barrett@ ipfw.edu Michael J. A. Darling '84 has been married to Mary for 28 years as of July 2015. Mary is a Delta Delta Delta graduate of SMU. Mike regularly runs into Tom Cole '82, and they serve on a committee for IU Business School in New York.
