W ant to get involved with Alpha Nu but are not interested or able to make the commitment to serve on the House Corporation Board? Consider participating as a member of one of the HCB committees. Being on a committee allows alumnae to get involved in specific projects without the responsibilities of a board position. If you are interested in learning more or volunteering, contact Bev Wood Nichols '75, president of the HCB, at kc5cents@aol.com. HCB Committees looking for members: • Landscape: Works with the landscaper for maintaining the exterior of the chapter house on Richmond Ave. and the new parking lot on Tiger Ave. • Governance: Responsible for ensuring all forms are submitted to National Headquarters, compliance with NH guidelines, recruiting new members for the board, applying for biannual certification, bylaws and house rules. • Communications: Coordinates communications to alumnae, NH, Alpha Nu chapter and Missouri alumnae chapters via the twice-yearly newsletter, Facebook, e-mail and other communication vehicles. Sends annual letters to parents of new members and lifetime members and assists with award and grant applications. • Sustainability: Coordinates the green initiatives and practices of the chapter. • Facilities: Plans for replacements, repairs and expenditures related to house maintenance, including decorating. Coordinates and participates in room checks after each semester. • Events: Stages and coordinates events including parent move-in day lunch, chapter holiday decorations, annual clean-up day, information exchange and tours/meetings with other sorority HCBs and meetings with the Greek Life office. Coordinates with statewide alumnae groups for chapter or HCB representation for Founders' Days, holiday events and Hall of Commitments. Coordinates HCB representation at chapter events such as scholarship banquet. • Finance: Responsible for financial stability and record keeping.
