St. Teresa's Academy 5 Alpha Chi Omega O n January 31, Courtney Cherry Willbrand '99 and Leslie McClellan Wehmeier '99 shared a life-changing message with the Alpha Nu chapter. They helped the chapter organize a screening of Someone You Love: The HPV Epidemic at Conservation Hall on Mizzou's campus for alumnae and collegiate sisters. Nearly the entire chapter and about 30 alumnae attended. Someone You Love is a feature-length documentary on the human papilloma virus and the stories of five women who were impacted by HPV and cervical cancer. The documentary sheds light on the risks, myths, problems, politics, misconceptions, and hard truths about this widespread epidemic. Courtney and Leslie have a strong emotional tie to the documentary, since it features their close friend and Alpha Nu sister, Kelly Pozzoli '98, who tragically lost her fight against cervical cancer in February 2014. To continue Kelly's legacy, Courtney and Leslie hope to spread awareness on HPV and cervical cancer, as well as inspire others to embody Kelly's positive outlook on life.
