T
he Missouri Alpha Chapter of Phi Delta Theta and the University of Missouri
share a storied tradition dating back to 1870. The oldest active fraternity on
campus, Phi Delta Theta has been a fixture at the University of Missouri for 145
years. With more than 2,600 initiates, Missouri Alpha has influenced the lives of
thousands of men, cultivating lasting friendships in the process. Many of our best
college memories are related to or a result of our Phi Delta Theta experience.
While many of our alumni have gone on to successful and distinguished lives, the
common bond of our brotherhood remains. Most of us can trace the roots of our
success to our Fraternity.
Our chapter house has been—and will continue to be—the focus of undergradu-
ate life for Phi Delta Theta. However, 101 E. Burnam has not been renovated since
1989 and is showing its age. Beta Theta Pi, Delta Sigma Phi, Delta Upsilon, Gamma
Rho, Phi Kappa Theta, and Sigma Chi have recently renovated or rebuilt their fa-
cilities. These new and renovated fraternity houses require us to reevaluate what
we are offering our members.
If we want Missouri Alpha to remain a strong presence on the Mizzou campus, we
must ensure that we are providing a safe, modem, and competitive facility. Now is
the time to secure our future.
