We brought the construction workers cookies and water during Delta Gamma's national "Do Good" week as a way of saying thank you for working so hard on our beautiful new home! We are so eager to see the progress unfold these next few months. National Convention Alpha Upsilon was recognized in high regard at the 2014 Delta Gamma Convention in Phoenix, Arizona. With the setting of the Arizona Biltmore and the message, "Hope Rising," Convention was an amazing experience that I will never forget. Alpha Upsilon was awarded the Patricia Peterson Danielson Award for demonstrating overall achievement of excellence in all areas of chapter life, the Maggie Award for Excellence in Newsletter, Region 6 Award for Excellence in Fraternity Ritual, Region 6 Award for Outstanding Advisory Team, and the Region 6 Award for Excellence in Fraternity Responsibility. I am so honored and humbled to have accepted these awards on behalf of the SMU chapter, and it further shows that our hard work and dedication to our mission as a fraternity is recognized beyond the SMU campus. Convention was a great place to be educated on new policies of Delta Gamma, reconnect with other DG presidents, exchange ideas, talk about problems, and simply remind ourselves of the impact we can make through this organization. It was a life-changing experience, and I am grateful for the opportunity.
