Gifts and pledges that were received during this time were doubled in value, going twice as far in helping us reach our campaign goal of $2.2 million. To date, we have received $2,146,014, which is a testament to the generosity of our alumnae. Ludi Mai Grand Staircase Alpha Upsilon sisters from the '60s and '70s, as well as special friends of Ludi Mai Goode, joined to support the campaign in a special way by donating toward the grand staircase, which will be dedicated in Mrs. Goode's memory. As of November 18, sisters and friends have generously given $43,980 in support of this special cause. Leave Your Legacy in the DG House We are offering a special opportunity for alumnae and friends to purchase an engraved brick that will be used in the building of our patio at the new Delta Gamma house. Don't miss this special chance to leave your lasting legacy with Alpha Upsilon by having your name set in stone. If you purchased a brick in 1992, we are offering to have your brick re-made at no charge. If you would like to change your brick or purchase a new brick, please use the order form enclosed in this newsletter or e-mail Dixie Sage Oneacre, Gamma Rho '64, at dgdixie@yahoo.com. Chapter House Construction The House Corporation is pleased to report that progress is continuing to be made toward construction of the new chapter house. The very extensive and time-consuming concrete work on the piers and foundation has been completed. The house is really beginning to take shape during the framing stage, which will continue through early December. Our contactor plans to be "under roof" by holiday break. The front porch of the new house will be approximately 6.5 feet above the front sidewalk and include a lift to assist anyone who cannot navigate the front steps. Finally, marble for the fabulous entry is being hand-cut in China to exact specifications. Securing Our Future As you make your year-end giving plans, please consider a donation to the new Alpha Upsilon house campaign and join the hundreds of sisters who have already generously donated. We are so appreciative of your support and the collegians are very grateful for your help also! There are still a few naming opportunities available. Please contact Susan or Carol if you are interested. Excitement is growing in their temporary home as the collegians watch the construction of their new Alpha Upsilon house across the street. It has been a pleasure to serve as your campaign chairmen and to see the dedication and commitment of our alumnae to the future generations of Alpha Upsilon.
