to say, WKML listeners are a family. And the family is devoted to Uncle Don. WKML is dedicated to doing something that so many radio stations owned by mass media companies fail to do. They have kept their local flavor, their local personalities and maintained a sense of community that is lacking in much of radio today. That's why when WKML radio personalities are out in the community, they are surrounded by their listeners. It is not unusual to see groups of people surround Chase to talk to him about a sick loved one or an old acquaintance or their kids' baseball games or birthday parties. Chase takes it all in stride and even on his Facebook page can be found offering up advice, prayers and congratulations to his listeners. That's just one of the reasons that WKML is so well-respected in the community. Others include their support of community events and dependability. If you heard it on WKML, it has to be true. Year after year we have fielded these categories and year after year the answer has remained the same. That's why it is with great love and respect that we retire this category and henceforth let it be known that WKML is the community's favorite radio station and Uncle Don is everybody's favorite DJ.
