Unfortunately, I sent it in June when no one was around to take note. There is a small group of seniors, both male and female, who play softball in the park by the Community Center. Our age group varies from 60 - 80 years old. There's one 92- year old lady who participates. We gath- er at 1pm on Tuesdays. We play for about an hour. No talent is neces- sary and everyone is welcome. Thank you, Jim Laeng and Jim Lacroix, Quartzsite THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT I want to thank everyone who voted for me. Thank you for your support. I will continue to do my best for the residents of Quartzsite. Let's all work together and make Quartzsite a wonderful place to be from. Again Thank You, Carol Kelley, Quartzsite THANK YOU SILLY AL'S This summer Pat Meisner decided we should be line dancing. She made arrangements with the Quartzsite Community Center to have the class on Fridays at noon. We had one class showed up the next week and they were closed. "Let's go to Silly Al's". Karon Robertson, the owner, Desert Messenger MyQuartzsite.com ONLINE was there and she said "Sure". On Aug. 15th we started our class with 8 people. (3 of the ladies were from Blythe.) Some weeks we had 12 people danc- ing. Afterwards we had lunch. We called it "Dance Therapy". Thank you Karon and Rob for let- ting us take over your dance fl oor at noon for almost three months. Sure helped "Fun up" the summer. I made some lasting friendships and so did the others. Lynn Stimson Quartzsite THANKS TO THE COMMUNITY I would like to say Thank You to our community. On Nov 11th, Gunny's Military Museum hosted our annual cookout to thank our Veterans and their families. It turned out wonderfully. This could not have been done without all the wonderful volunteers, and support from so many in our community. First of all, I want to thank my wife, Debra (also known as Mrs. Gunny), who puts up with all that I do. So many volunteers to Thank-- Archie, Terri, Danny, Pam, Ralph, Wayne, Marti, Doc, Shane, Nate, Marty, and so many others. If I have forgotten anyone, please accept my apologies. I can't remember everyone , but you're just as im- portant to us as the others that I've mentioned. The donations of food was outstanding. Businesses from our local community also contrib- uted-- The QIA, The General Store, Miss Dee at the Bakery, Eastside Breadery, The VFW Post 769, The Rotary Club, The QPD, and many, many, private individuals. A special Thank You to Hilda for donation of the wonderful Hats. And last, but not least, The Great Band we had who donated their time, and kept the music going.
