And thank you to all the volunteers (residents & snowbirds) who put in countless hours for all the events around town! Speaking of events! These past two weeks were extremely busy for local organizations. The QIA opened the offi ce and folks have been renewing their memberships and already enjoying the events there. On Wednesday, Nov. 5th a new Farmers Market opened at Desert Gardens on W. Kuehn Rd. East Side Breadery sold out of fresh bread, and customers were pleased with the new choices for produce. Check it out every week through March, 8am-noon. Nov. 8th Quartzsite Rotary held their fi rst annual Rotary Day in the Park with a wonderful car/motorcycle show and old fashioned games, fun for the whole family. On Veteran's Day, the VFW Post 769 held their annual ceremonies at the Planes at Town Park, followed by the 3rd annual barbecue at Gunny's Mili- tary Museum. It was perfect weather for enjoying visiting with old friends and meeting new ones. On Nov. 15th Quartzsite Business Chamber of Commerce held a Ribbon Cutting for Cactusranch Flowers which just opened two weeks ago. Following the wonderful Open House, folks gathered at the new fundraising event at the Lutheran Church. The Fall Festival and Community Roundup had craft vendors, delicious food, movies, chickens and bunnies, too! Be sure to check out all the upcoming events listed in these pages. The Town of Quartzsite is spon- soring the annual Town Wide Clean-up Day December 11, 12, & 13. Dumpsters are avail- able on the Town Lot, just east of Ed Options, 560 E. Coyote (just around the corner from the Police Station, off Plymouth.) Free trash and household goods disposal, however NO TIRES- NO HAZARDOUS WASTE OR WHITE GOODS (nothing with Freon, such as air conditioners, refrigerators, freezers.) If you need some help or can- not get to the dumpsters, call Quartzsite Town Hall at 928- 927-4333 to arrange assistance. Quartzsite Library will host an Evening Program with James Hogan, Thursday, Nov. 20th at 7pm. "The captivity of the Oatman Girls among the Apache and Mohave Indians in 1851" This Free event will take place at Quartzsite Town Hall. Refresh- ments will be served.
