O ver the last few months the Alpha Mu Chapter has seen phenomenal growth in many areas. Our membership has reached over 50 men and our involvement has steadily grown. This fall we are holding three philanthropy events. Chapter Ranked 5th in Grades In the spring we achieved a chapter G.P.A. of 3.11, ranking us 5th in the IFC community. This is an improvement from the previous semester and ranks us above the university men's average and the IFC active member average. We look to improve our academics, especially as we welcome many new men to the fraternity. Striving to Improve Philanthropy We hosted a 5k run through central campus on October 18, a murder mystery dinner at the chapter house on October 23, and a comedian at the Memorial Union. All three of these events are brand new and part of our initiative to serve the community at a higher level. Proceeds from each event go directly to the USO. Membership Fills Chapter House Since the spring, we have recruited over 20 men. Through our 4 Alpha Mu Chapter 4 THE TOMAHAWK Collegians Fill Chapter House for First Time in 10 Years Leadership Grows along with Chapter Brother Jake Wiemiller '16 with three of Iowa State's best basketball players. Our total membership is now over 50 men who we feel live up to the ideals of Theta Chi. Alumni Weekend Success On the weekend of September 6 we hosted our annual parents and alumni weekend. We had over 90 alumni and parents attend the events on Friday evening and Saturday morning. On Saturday we held our furniture fund auction and raised over $2,000. We look forward to welcoming even more alumni and parents next year. We have built a lot of momentum in the last several months and we look to continue improving this fall. The undergraduate men have shown great leadership as we've grown our chapter. We look forward to bringing you more good news about the successes this fall.
