The Street Repaving and Re- construction Plan, which city staff said could begin construc- tion next spring, includes repav- ing of Solano Street west of the Interstate 5 northbound ramps, and east of Toomes Avenue to West Street. Third Street repav- ing would run from Solano Street to Blackburn Avenue, and Hoag Street repaving would run from Solano Street to North Street. Improvements to crosswalks and sidewalks adjacent to street CORNING City Council targets streets for repaving StretchesofSolano, Third, Hoag streets and Toomes Avenue in plans REDBLUFF Police have arrested a suspect in a Wednesday fight that left a Red Bluff man on life sup- port. Joseph Michael Cadotte, 26, of Red Bluff was booked Thursday for battery with great bodily injury, a felony, according to a press release issued late Thursday by the Red Bluff Police Department. He is be- ing held in the Tehama County Jail in lieu of $1 million bail. Police responded around 5 p.m. Wednesday to the 700 block of South Jackson Street where they found 33-year-old Rogelio McDar- ment lying unresponsive on the ground. McDarment stopped breathing after officers ar- rived and emergency per- sonnel began life saving procedures. He was flown to Mercy Medical Center in Redding, where he was on life support Thursday. During an investigation of the incident, police identified Joseph Michael Cadotte as a suspect in the case. At about 4:45 p.m. Thurs- day, Cadotte was taken into the custody on Ply- mire Road, just west of Red Bluff. Cadotte was seen driving by a District Attorney investigator and was taken into custody at the Te- hama County Landfill. Investigators also found the ve- hicle Cadotte was riding in at the time of this incident, described as a gold sedan in a previous re- lease. That vehicle was stored as evidence. As of Thursday night, McDar- ment was still in critical condition at Mercy and remained on life sup- port, the release said. At a pep rally during the last hour of the school week filled with green and gold, stu- dents danced, sang and above all else cheered for their Spar- tans. The pep rally was followed by a parade of class floats. In between the junior var- sity and varsity football games Daisy Brose was crowned as Homecoming Queen. The other candidates were Daisy Brose, Molly Murphy, Maryn Spangler, Allison Win- ning and Olivia Zumalt. The school also recognized golden and silver graduates from the years 1964 and 1989. The Red Bluff football team hosted Eastern Athletic League rival Paradise for the Homecoming game.
