TODO Yahi Group hosts October activities FUNDRAISER REDDING Former Tennes- see Titan Jovan Haye will share his personal story of triumph over adversity as he struggled to overcome severe Dyslexia. Join him at 7 p.m. Thurs- day, Oct. 16 in the Shasta College Gym for a free con- versation that is sure to in- spire, educate and help give you the determination to win in life. Despite growing up in poverty, suffering abuse at home, and thinking he was dumb because of undiag- nosed dyslexia, Haye beat the odds. Haye's success in team sports gave him the confidence to face other challenges and to overcome his biggest obstacle of all — severe dyslexia. He became an honor roll student, grad- uated from Vanderbilt and went on to play seven years in the NFL. "Bigger Than Me" is Jo- van's book about how he beat dyslexia and his tri- umphs both on and off the field. Bring your pre-pur- chased books to the event to be signed. Book is avail- able at http://www.jovan- haye.com/products.php. This free presentation is brought to you by North State Literacy Connections and supported by Shasta College Foundation, Shasta College, Dutch Bros., Liter- ate Nation, Decoding Dys- lexia-CA, 2 Dual, and the In- ternational Dyslexia Associ- ation.
