6A Daily News – Thursday, August 4, 2011 Pastimes Professional photographers and instructors Susan and Neil Silverman, known for their photo workshops and tours, will lead the photography workshop, If It's Worth Shooting, Make it Great. " A photographer's time is precious and the light and the moment will never be the same again, so make the most of it," they said of the title for the course. Sponsored by the Tehama County Photography Club, the workshop is open to all photographers. It will be held Satur- day, Aug. 27, in Red Bluff beginning with a sunrise shoot at 6 a.m. The Silvermans will lead a tour of other on-location pho- tography with one-on-one instruction and tips for the partic- ipants. The afternoon session will be at the Tehama County Department of Education where they will continue to share their knowledge and enthusiasm with discussions and cri- tiques. The fee for the workshop is $50. Space is limited. Susan and Neil Silverman are a husband-wife team who have taught and photographed together for more than years. They travel and teach and have placed their tripod in many lovely spots in the world; but their camera is very often off - tripod as they photograph people — while traveling, wed- ding photography and commercial photography. Their images go to several stock agencies and they always have a multi-purpose thought in mind when pho- tographing. Residing in Northern California, the Silvermans frequently travel to Asia, where their sons live. There they have captured many images of the life and culture in China and Japan. Although they are well versed in Photoshop and Light- room, they really believe in getting the image in the camera. They forever seek "the image, the light and the moment" through their camera lens and their life experiences, working hard to keep their finger on the pulse of the beat of the times. The Silvermans are the Jurors for the Images From A Glass Eye International Photography Show for 2011.
