For those wanting some active things to get your energy out, spend an afternoon at the Double Decker Skatepark at 500 Blount St., one of the largest skate parks in N.C. Or what about climbing walls at the Climbing Place at 436 W. Russell St., painting pottery at Greg’s Art, Pottery and Gifts at 122 Maxwell St., fencing at 207 B Donaldson St. and more. And shopping is a necessity to make sure you are well-prepared for the school year.
