ATW these were the thoughts and hopes uppermost Securing the Future of Gamma Upsilon T oday, perhaps more than ever, college fraternities play a relevant role in the lives of young men. Each of us benefited from the generosity, hard work, and dedication of those who went before us. Now is our turn to step up and support the financial challenge associated with this project, ensuring that the same valuable experience we enjoyed is available for others who follow. To help donors maximize their gifts, the Campaign Executive Board and Corporation Board have designed the campaign with our alumni in mind. Tax Deductibility. The Internal Revenue Service will allow exclusively educational space in the renovated chapter house to be funded with tax-deductible dollars that are gifted through the Alpha Tau Omega Foundation or the Iowa State Foundation and designated for Gamma Upsilon Chapter. With only a portion of the project meeting this stipulation, the need for non-tax-deductible gifts is great. This means we are urging donors to consider directing a majority of their gift to the Gamma Upsilon Corporation Board fund (non-tax deductible). Matching Gifts and Gifts of Securities. If your employer offers a matching gift program, you may be able to double your contribution. Gifts of securities are also accepted, as there are often significant tax advantages to the donor. (For professional advice, please consult your tax advisor.) Payment Options. Because of the magnitude of our objectives, we urge all alumni to consider major gifts to the campaign. To help donors make the largest gift possible, each alumnus may spread his gift over a five-year period. Pledges can be fulfilled through annual, quarterly, or monthly installments at the donor's discretion. All donors contributing $2,500 or more will be recognized on a prominently displayed plaque and will appear in campaign publications. Gifts in honor or in memory of brothers, as well as family and pledge class gifts, are welcomed. Recognition in such cases will be given to both the donor and the honoree.
