Ensuring Your Investment Management of the Facility In conjunction with the supervision and mentoring provided by the Corporation Board and Board of Trustees, the alumni leadership recognizes the importance of a live-in adult presence at the chapter house. Historically, Gamma Upsilon has inconsistently been able to fill the house director position due to a lack of resources. The endowment fund being developed with this fundraising effort will help supplement the salary of the house director to ensure this position is secure. Actives Taking Ownership In conjunction with adult supervision, the active chapter will be charged with the responsibility to operate and maintain a first-class facility. The following policies are in place to help protect the facility. • The Corporation Board reserves the right to deny residency or entry to any person not believed to be of good character or who fails to conduct himself according to established policies. • The undergraduate chapter shall enforce a mandatory live-in requirement. All pledges shall be encouraged to live in the chapter house during their pledgeship. Actives shall be required to live in the chapter house to the extent necessary to reach occupancy levels. • A capital improvement fee will be assessed to new members for future capital replacement needs. • The undergraduate chapter will be responsible for damage or loss that is not part of the ordinary wear and tear of the chapter house, grounds, or furnishings. • The Chapter assesses a security deposit of $300 and the Corporation Board monitors the check-in and check-out status of the facility. Fines for cleaning and repair are assessed as necessary. • Housing contracts shall be signed each year by each member and pledge before he will be allowed to move into the chapter house. • No alterations to the structure of the chapter house shall be made by the undergraduate chapter or by individual members without consent of the Corporation Board. • The undergraduate chapter is responsible for ensuring that all fire-safe- ty devices are functioning properly and the facility passes all safety and health inspections by the insurance company, fire department, rental housing inspection division, and Corporation Board. • There shall be no use or possession of illegal drugs on Corporation Board property or at chapter-sponsored events. Members who fail to adhere to this policy shall be subject to immediate eviction from the chapter house and removed from membership in the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. to have no narrower limits within which to work together for the elevation of man than the outlines of the world; T he Gamma Upsilon Corporation Board feels strongly about the need to ensure that your investment in the renovated chapter house is carefully protected over the years. Alumni have stated it is imperative that policies and procedures be in place and enforced, and, after the renovation is completed, the Corporation Board will continue to carefully handle the facility and your investment in Alpha Tau Omega.
