Chapter Eternal
Dr. George "Dick" Shoemaker Jr. '58 entered
Chapter Eternal on September 17, 2013, in
Buffalo, N.Y. He received a degree in business
from Mizzou and went on to earn advanced
degrees in art education and education. Dick was
an art professor at the University of Wisconsin in
Whitewater and Miami University of Ohio before
joining Edinboro University in 1970, where he
became chairman of the art department and dean
of arts and humanities. He is survived by his wife,
Ruth, and daughter, Jennifer.
Dan Maltby, Ph.D. '69 entered Chapter Eternal
on October 1, 2012. He had a diverse career,
including service in the U.S. Army Reserves,
on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ and
as a professor at Biola University. Dan served
as house president his senior year and went on
to work with many Fortune 500 executives on
bringing better business ethics to the corporate
arena. He is survived by his wife, Dee, and
daughters, Lauren and Jessica.
