SAE SAE pAge 3 A labama Alpha Mu has remained focused on brotherhood this semester. e chapter has shown strength in philanthropy, recruitment, and alumni relations. Focus on philanthropy In the fall semester, we raised money for the Boys and Girls Club in Auburn, hosted a philanthropy event called Game Day for Heroes, which helps our country's veterans, and recently helped at the Special Olympics of Opelika as judges and event staff. ese have all been exceptional annual experiences for our chapter, and they always bring us closer to each other and to our community. Strength in Recruitment is fall we brought in a great new pledge class—37 members strong. ese new members did some great projects to benefit their new house. ey converted our old floating dock into a floating green you can hit golf balls to, built a new and improved floating dock, made a dart arena, and, of course, constructed the traditional pledge class table. Pledge Trainer Shepard parke '15 said, " ey truly encompass what it means to be a True Gentleman and we are proud to have them as brothers." Many leaders from their pledge class have emerged, and the future looks strong with each of them. '60s Reunion Success In March we hosted a reunion for the pledge classes of the '60s that was a huge hit. We thank every one of them for their participation and donations. We had the pleasure of meeting many alumni and had great conversations and made great connections. We hope to see our alumni from the '60s and other eras again very soon. We emphasize the power of networks, friendship, and brotherhood. I believe that these three assets are the most important part of our organization and we strive as a chapter to build upon them every day. e reason our chapter values our alumni to the degree that we do is simply because they share our passion for growth in our relationship as brothers. As an Auburn student, my greatest resource in college has been the accountability, support, and overall knowledge I have acquired from being a brother at Alabama Alpha Mu. My greatest hope is that the best and brightest will want to make the same decision I made in joining the brotherhood.
