SAE e Alabama Alpha Mu News Alpha Mu Chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon • Auburn University • Spring 2014 O ne of the house corporation's top priorities is to promote alumni involvement. Over the past six months, with the help of house corporation members Sam Winter '04 and Matthew Murphy '06, we have been busy updating our records so that we can provide more information to our alumni. In association with this endeavor, Brother Burt Cloud '66 helped provide information on several lost brothers and volunteered to organize a reunion for the alumni who were SAEs at Auburn during the 1960s. Nearly 100 alumni and spouses attended the event on Saturday, March 29, and by all accounts it was a tremendous success. e group took a tour of the improved grounds and enjoyed an a ernoon on the deck visiting with old friends. I was happy that so many alumni came back to Auburn for this reunion, and I challenge the brothers from other decades to do the same. If the house corporation can help with similar events, please feel free to contact me or Alumni Relations Chairman Haynes Litchfield '16 at hhl0004@tigermail.auburn.edu. I also appreciate everyone's feedback regarding the new pledgeship regulations imposed on all SAE chapters by the national fraternity. It was great hearing from so many of you. e house corporation had a meeting with Regional Director William Winstead, Tennessee-Martin '98, and I let him know our alumni's thoughts regarding the new program, and I thank everyone for their comments, suggestions, and concerns. e house corporation recently combined and refinanced its two outstanding loans to take advantage of low interest rates. anks to our alumni, we have been able to pay down some of our debt from the grounds project. As always, the house corporation welcomes any and all donations. All donations can be sent to Alabama Alpha Mu Chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Auburn University, P.O. Box 241767, Montgomery, AL 36124- 1767. Any donations received by the alumni will be applied to pay down our debt. It is hard to believe that the spring semester is almost over and summer is right around the corner. I was recently provided a copy of the social schedule for the fraternity for the spring semester and needless to say, I immediately wished that I could go back to school for one last spring. Knowing that will never happen, I encourage everyone to provide the brothers with the names of potential members who can carry on the SAE tradition and enjoy our fraternity. If you have the name of an outstanding young man who you would like to have included on the rush list, please feel free to send me an e-mail, and I will get the information to the proper contacts at the chapter. I hope everyone has a chance to visit the house the next time you are in Auburn. Fraternally, George R.
