wireless computer access throughout the facility. Multiple areas
designated for study, adequate furnishings and state-of-the-
art technology will help our members maintain a competitive
academic edge. Keeping an option for our members to study at
the chapter house day or night, alone or with guests, is key to
keeping our members scholastically competitive at OU.
Competition and Value
The University of Oklahoma fraternity system is already an
extremely competitive market. A number of the fraternities on
campus have responded to the competition by making significant
investments toward upgrading or replacing their residential
facilities. Alpha Tau Omega, Delta Upsilon, Kappa Sigma,
Lambda Chi Alpha, Phi Delta Theta, Phi Gamma Delta and Sigma
Alpha Epsilon have all completed major fundraising campaigns to
address their housing needs. Furthermore, OU's dormitories and
off-campus living options are providing good value for their cost,
and six new apartment complexes have recently been constructed
while another is underway. Today's undergraduates demand a
superior product at a competitive price that provides the amenities
offered through other housing options.
"It is impossible for 18-year-olds not to be
influenced by what other fraternities on campus
have done with their houses. It is time to make
a major investment in our facility so it remains
commensurate with our history and reputation."
