4A – Daily News – Wednesday, March 16, 2011 Commerce business planned five diverse fundraising events for the upcoming months, from Wine Tasting to Harley Riding. This is an opportunity for residents to support the brand- ing effort and the future of their community while getting reacquainted with Tehama County and the unique activi- ties it has to offer. Destination Tehama has been focusing on fundraisers that will highlight the wide variety of local recreational resources that are accessible to community members and tourist alike. The first fundraising event takes place Saturday, March 19. Destination Tehama and NEXT Tehama have part- nered by offering a venue for our com- munity, friends and family to visit Manton’s up and coming Wine Coun- try. Wine lovers can expect to see six of Manton’s most popular vineyards, taste the wide selection of locally grown wines, and enjoy the company of like-minded friends. Buses leave & Frontier Village at 11 a.m. and are expected to return around 7:30 p.m. Many thanks extended to Mt. Lassen Motor Transit for the incredible gen- erosity that made this event possible. This event will showcase local businesses, community members that care, organizations that are willing to go the extra mile and most importantly regen- erate prosperity for the place we call home. This fundraiser is a great oppor- tunity for those who have not experi- enced the Manton Wineries to do so, and for those that have a reason to go again. The Manton Wine Tour is just the first of five events coming up. Each fundraising event will give people a chance to enjoy the diversity of our community. Our goal is to raise the remaining funds needed to retain Roger Brooks, raise awareness for the Tehama County branding project, and reintroduce the community to the resources that are available in our area. 18 and 19 Submitted by Kristen Gray, Destination Tehama Branding Team Member and Carrie Clark, NEXT Tehama Leadership Team.
