Fayetteville Has a
Television Station!
Citizens can watch and enjoy City
government programming now by
tuning into FAYTV7 on Time Warner
Cable Channel 7. Residents can stay informed about
City services through bulletin boards and videos.
City Council meetings are shown live and through
rebroadcasts during the week.
The station is a valuable tool for the City to engage
and inform the citizenry about City departments.
The channel is a work in progress and came to
fruition as the result of Time Warner Cable ceasing
operations of channel 7 on July 1 as part of State
law.
Be sure to check out the channel on TV and
check out the station's YouTube channel at
www.faytv7.com.

2014: Year of the
Whimsical Dogwoods
Downtown Fayetteville will play host in 2014 to an
array of public art pieces with help from a grant from
the Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County.
From April to September, visitors and guests will
be able to view Whimsical Dogwoods, individually
painted by local artists, installed around Downtown
Fayetteville.
These Whimsical Dogwoods will be mapped on a
walkable tour and will include interactive features,
such as QR codes, and programming like scavenger
hunts, meet the artists night during 4th Friday and
contests to get everyone engaged. This project is
designed to increase visibility of museums and parks
and to raise money for downtown revitalization.
With this highly visible project, opportunities are
available for businesses to be featured this year
downtown. Sponsorships range from the top Whim-
sical Dogwood Presenting sponsorship, which would
give a business the lead sponsorship and information
on all icons and marketing, to the Whimsical Dog-
wood Supporting sponsor, which also allows for a
logo on marketing, as well as an artist design choice,
to our Icon Adoption package.
This project was made possible with help from a
grant from the Arts Council of Fayetteville/
Cumberland County.
For a Whimsical Dogwood Sponsorship Packet or
for more information about the project, including the
Call for Artists, sponsorship opportunities or a mon-
etary donation, please call Jami McLaughlin at 433-
1599 or email at jmclaughlin@ci.fay.nc.us. Updates
will be made through the Downtown Fayetteville
website, www.visitdowntownfayetteville.com, and
through the Downtown Fayetteville Facebook page,
