2A – Daily News – Friday, February 25, 2011 Community people&events Military — McFadyen Elks stage successful crab feed Special to the DN Red Bluff Elks Lodge 1250 held its annual crab feed at the Elks hall on Gilmore Road on Saturday, Feb. 19. Nearly 600 people in atten- dance, including Elks and invited guests, were served in two sittings. The meal featured all-you-can- eat picked crab and tiger prawns, deviled eggs, green salad, and French bread. Entertainment for the evening included an auction and dancing to live music by LTD Band, featuring vocals by Nella Schnase. A drawing was held for a cus- Courtesy photo Air Force Airman James E. McFadyen graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force. He is the son of Ed and Susan McFadyen of Red Bluff, husband of Lora McFadyen, grandson of Gena and the late Gene Penne and Don and Betty McFadyen. The crab feed, held for the past 50 years, is one of the principal events of the local lodge, and many look forward to the dinner with great anticipation. In years past, the feed was held at the Tehama Coun- ty Fairgrounds, until the current lodge facility was dedicated in 1971. Kindergarten Military — Orr Army Pfc. Steve L. Orr graduated from the Field Artillery Automated Tactical Data Systems Specialist Advanced Individual Training course at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. As members of the Army's field artillery team, the course is designed to train soldiers as specialists to operate the advanced field artillery tactical data systems for both cannon and multiple launch rocket systems. The specialists play a critical role in the safe, accurate, and lethal delivery of the field artillery's various fire support systems used to support infantry and tank units in combat. Skills training included methods of computing target locations using com- puters or manual calculations, ammunition handling tech- niques, and operating and performing maintenance on related equipment, vehicles, generators, and artillery tacti- cal and data systems. He is the nephew of Yvette Fortier-Bline of Red Bluff and son of Yvonne Fortier of Tehama. Orr is a 2001 grad- uate of Red Bluff Union High School. Andreini makes honor roll A total of 4,509 students were named to the 2010 fall honor rolls at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, including 1,543 students who received all “A” grades and were named to the President’s Honor Roll. Among those placed on the President’s Honor Roll was Emily Marie Andreini of Red Bluff. Andreini is a 2009 graduate of Red Bluff Union High School. Full-time undergraduate students who completed six or more hours with a grade point average of 4.0 were placed on the President’s Honor Roll, and students with a grade point average of 3.50 or higher with no grade below a “C” were placed on the Dean’s Honor Roll.
