LCA Lambda lamp Alpha-Delta Zeta at Missouri University of Science and Technology | Fall 2013 ALPHA-DELTA ZETA ANNOUNCES CAMPAIGN TO ENHANCE CHAPTER HOUSE A Loyal Alumni Contribute $1,352,157 So Far lumni have gathered to form a capital campaign committee and have worked tirelessly to bring us to this critical point in Alpha-Delta Zeta's history. We are pleased to announce the Honoring Our Past, Securing Our Future: The Campaign for Alpha-Delta Zeta, which will ensure the future of Lambda Chi Alpha at MS&T. This capital campaign will help us meet the needs of the undergraduates, secure the future of ADZ, and position ourselves to attract top student leaders. • CHAPTER HOUSE NECESSARY TO REMAIN COMPETITIVE • As alumni, it is vital we contribute time, energy, and our financial resources to Alpha-Delta Zeta. Your financial gift will be an investment in the lives of our undergraduate members and the future of ADZ. At Missouri S&T, there are 27 Greek-letter organizations, comprised of more than 1,100 students, representing 21% of the student body. Lambda Chi Alpha is one of 22 fraternities. Pi Kappa Alpha, Kappa Sigma, Sigma Phi Epsilon, Tau Kappa Epsilon, and Phi Kappa Theta are in the midst of or have completed major projects already. We must also compete with the amenities offered in newly-renovated on-campus residence halls and offcampus apartments. For Lambda Chi Alpha to remain a premier fraternity at Missouri S&T, we must renovate and expand our facility to attract the quality of men we pride ourselves on. HIGHLIGHTS OF OUR FUTURE CHAPTER HOUSE • • • Add 4,850 sq. ft. of living space to the Chapter House, including 10 suite-style bedrooms on the second and third floors Remodel existing space with new flooring, paint, fixtures, and finishes Address mandatory life-safety issues with sprinklers, firerated doors, and full compliance with code specifications • • • Provide ample study space, including areas for individual and group study, as well as wireless Internet access throughout the facility Replace heating and cooling, plumbing, and electrical systems to accommodate the volume/size of the house and address safety issues Add four additional fire-rated exits on all floors Central air conditioning will be provided to replace private window units House capacity will remain at 60 with 50% more space provided in sleep/study rooms SUPPORT THE FUTURE OF LAMBDA CHI ALPHA The success of our Chapter and our alumni is a tribute to the foundation that Lambda Chi Alpha instilled in each of us. I urge you to focus on the important task of providing the same experience for future generations of ADZ members. To compete with other fraternities at MS&T, we must revitalize our Chapter House. This will allow our undergraduate men to compete with other fraternities, residence halls, and off-campus living options. We must offer our undergraduates a safe and attractive facility. I urge your thoughtful consideration of this project and what it means for the future of Lambda Chi at MS&T. In the next few weeks, please look for more information concerning the capital campaign. We look forward to your support. Thank you for your loyalty to Alpha-Delta Zeta of Lambda Chi Alpha.
