More than that, we all vowed to each other that we would not rest, and we would not let others rest, until we saw CA Delta receive that Gold Buchanan Cup at the 54th Grand Chapter Conclave in Nashville, Tennessee. Why not join us? We always need and benefit from more alumni participation. This could include attending events and just dropping by the house to offer your encouragement. It could also include taking a more active role in the mentoring of the undergraduate men. This does not require physical proximity. We now know the value of distance mentoring via any electronic means available, not just the telephone. If you have any interest in mentoring one of our outstanding undergraduates, or want to assist with the Alumni and Volunteer Corporation, please contact Ron Smith at ronsred@cox.net. Chapter Welcomes Faculty Fellow Jessica Savalla C A Delta is extremely pleased to introduce our second faculty fellow, Jessica Savalla. Faculty fellows are part of the SigEp Residential Learning Community model and are much, much more than nominal faculty advisors. Jessica will help guide CA Delta students in all aspects of academic counseling. Her specialty, as you read below, will be in opening doors and pushing high achieving students even further in their scholarly pursuits. Jessica coordinates the office for the University Honors Program. She is also highly involved in Honors Council through her advising both the University Honors Program Student Society and Phi Eta Sigma officers. Her professional background is in public relations and marketing for the City of San Diego and KPBS TV/FM. An Aztec for life, she completed her undergraduate degree in social science, French and economics here at SDSU. She is a member of the National Association for Student Affairs Personnel Administrators, a professional group for the student affairs staff.
