8A – Daily News – Friday, November 19, 2010 The following defen- dants were sentenced in Tehama County Superior Court, according to the Tehama County District Attorney’s Office: —————— Recent State Prison Commitments: • Ronald James Grissom Jr., was sentenced to five years in state prison for pos- session of a controlled sub- stance-special allegation- prior felony. Grissom was orig- inally granted probation. He violated his probation when he was found trespassing on private property as well as receiving a citation for prowling. • Karl Mora Rottman was sentenced to three years, eight months in state prison for false compart- ment to conceal drugs, sale of a controlled substance, sale of marijuana. Rottman was originally granted formal probation on both cases. He violated his probation when he failed to contact probation and advise them of his current address as well as testing positive for methampheta- mine. • Phetsamone One- phonesy was sentenced to two years, eight months in state prison for failure to register, after address change. Investigator contacted and arrested Onephonesy after it was discovered he had registered as a sex offender in Sacramento but was employed and resided in Tehama County. • Nicholas David Ander- son was sentenced to two years, eight months in state prison for receiving stolen property, possession of a controlled substance. Anderson was contacted by deputies after riding his bike late at night with no lights. Deputies obtained consent to search and locat- ed two stolen credit cards in his backpack. Anderson was originally granted for- mal probation. Anderson violated his probation. • Lena Rochelle Lucero was sentenced to two years, four months in state prison for criminal threats. Officers respond to a res- idence regarding a distur- bance. Upon arriving offi- cers were advised Lucero became upset and threat- ened to stab the victim with scissors. Officers then con- tacted Lucero and, after a brief struggle, she was taken into custody. • Shance Nehemiah Crow was sentenced to 16 months in state prison for COURT ROUND-UP Per the resisting executive officer. Crow was contacted after it was reported he was causing a disturbance in the lobby of the local probation department. After deputies were advised Crow had warrants for his arrest they attempted to arrest him when a struggle ensued. The deputies used pepper spray and continued to struggle with Crow until they were able to place him in handcuffs. Recent County Jail Commitments: • Douglas Eugene Rus- sell was sentenced to 270 days in Tehama County Jail for grand theft from person. Russell entered a store and attempted to purchase some items. After the clerk rang up the items Russell stated he did not have any money. When the clerk refused to give Russell cred- it he grabbed the bag and fled the store. Russell was later located and taken into custody. • Chad Leroy McCoy was sentenced to 270 days in Tehama County Jail for grand theft of personal property. McCoy and two friends stole copper wire from a business in Corning and then sold it to another busi- ness for profit. • Jerry Deloy Wilson was sentenced to 120 days in Tehama County Jail for corporal injury to spouse. Instead, the court must place defendant on probation and require drug treatment alone. Per the requirements of Propo- sition 36, only upon a third drug related probation vio- lation may the court impose confinement time. In the event the defendant violates a non-drug related term of probation the court may then elect to sentence defen- dant to jail or prison. The Tehama County District Attorney’s Office contends that each criminal case is unique and that in certain, specific, cases a defendant should be sen- tenced to a combination of drug treatment and jail time. We further contend that in other specific cases where a defendant has an extensive criminal record and/or a his- tory of non-compliance with either previous grants of probation or previous grants of drug treatment, a state prison sentence should properly be imposed. • Frank Landecho Lopez was sentenced to Prop. 36 probation for two counts of possession of a controlled substance. Agents conducted a search of Lopez’s residence and located methampheta- mine, marijuana, drug pack- aging material and a hypo- dermic syringe. Deputies contacted Lopez and con- ducted a search of his vehi- cle. Inside the vehicle deputies located a digital scale, methamphetamine and other drug related para- phernalia. • Vivian Marie Wright was sentenced to Prop. 36 probation for possession of a controlled substance. Officer contacted Wright and noticed she displayed the signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance. A search of Wright’s purse revealed a hypodermic syringe and methamphetamine. Recent Filings: • A warrant has been issued for Jeffrey S. Van- derveer for possession of matter depicting minor engaging in sexual conduct. Vanderveer was being investigated for filming girls at local gym by mounting a camera under a desk. Dur- ing the investigation the Vanderveer’s computer was seized and investigators located several items of child pornography. Upcoming Court Dates - Trials, Preliminary Hear- ings(PX) & Pre Trial Con- ferences(PTC): • Ross Evan Rottman will appear in court at 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 8 in depart- ment 1. He is facing the charges of culitvating mari- juana, possession of mari- juana for sale. Agents from the drug task force served a search warrant at a residence where they contact- ed Rottman. During the search of the residence agents located forty-four marijuana plants and two firearms. • Michael Dean Robert- son will appear in court at 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 15 in Department 1. He is facing the charges of four counts of first degree residential burl- gary, three counts of receiv- ing stolen property, posses- sion of firearm by a felon, possession of ammunition, possession of a controlled substance, special allega- tion-prior felony-All counts, special allegation prior strike. failure to appear while on bail, special allega- tion-offense while on bail or O.R. possession of illegal substances in a jail facility. Deputies were investi- gating several burglaries that were occurring around the county. After tracking down Robertson deputies executed a search warrant where they located numer- ous stolen items. Robertson was released from custody on bail and failed to appear in court as ordered. Robert- son was in custody at the Tehama County Jail when correctional officers located a small quantity of marijua- na in his pants while performing a pat down search. • Michael Bruce Pryor Jr., will appear in court at 1 p.m. on Nov. 17 in Depart- ment 3. Inside the businesses agents also found several recommendations which were all fraudulent and one of which was stolen. • Samuel Isael Ayala and Everado Barragan will appear in court at 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 22 in Department 1. They are facing charges of: assault with a firearm with special allegations- use of firearm, street terror- ism-violent felony (Ayala only); discharge of firearm with gross negligence with special allegation street ter- rorism-violent felony (Ayala only); having con- cealed firearm on person with special allegation street terrorism (Ayala & Barragan), transportation of a controlled substance with special allegation, armed with firearm (Ayala & Barragan), possession for sale of a controlled sub- stance with special allega- tion (Ayala & Barragan), street terrorism (Ayala & Barragan), battery: simple (Barragan only) Officers were dis- patched to the parking lot of a local bar for a report of a fight in progress. While officers were responding dispatch advised them there had now been a report of shots fired at that location. Upon arrival offi- cers contacted the victim who stated he had observed two females fighting in the parking lot and decided to intervene in an attempt to stop the fight when he was attacked by three Hispanic males. During the struggle one of the defendants retreated to his car where he removed a handgun and fired two gunshots into the sky. Officers were able to locate defendants and take them into custody without incident. • Leo Martin Romo will appear in court at 1:15 p.m. on Nov. 29 in Department 4. He is facing the charges of unlawful sexual inter- course, furnishing marijua- na to minor over 14. Officers respond to a residence regarding a pos- sible rape committed by Romo on a sixteen-year- old victim. Officers were advised Romo and victim were smoking marijuana in Romo’s car when Romo forced himself on her. • Michael Ryan Ogier will appeare in court at 9 a.m. on Dec. 9 in Depart- ment 3. He is facing the charges of assault with intent to commit a felony, attempt: forcible oral copu- lation, sexual battery by restraint. Deputies were further advised that during the incident the victim was able to pull herself away from Ogier and get to a window to yell for help.
