4 Gamma Crescent Chapter Embraces the AGRconnect Way New Member Program Maintains Gamma Traditions A s VNR Membership Development of Gamma Chapter, I am honored to have the responsibility of developing our members morally, mentally, scholastically, and fraternally. At Gamma Chapter, each brother makes it his duty to engage in leadership, educational, and professional development, ultimately promoting lifelong career success. The AGRconnect website has allowed the men of Alpha Gamma Rho to accomplish these goals more effectively through modular system learning. A view of the new fence and landscaping. Gamma House Facelift Makes Impact Improvements Made Possible by Alumni A s Gamma Chapter has made strides toward a larger, stronger, and more active brotherhood, the house has not been left in the wake. This previous spring and summer, the house received a much-needed facelift. During the closing weeks of the spring 2013 semester, I, along with a few other undergraduates, installed a post and rail fence in the lower yard and along the sidewalk running toward the rear of the house. The chapter also planted hedges in a mulch bed behind the fence. AGR Pillars Given New Life removal of asbestos in the process. Although the project was not easy or inexpensive, it is a great improvement to a recently renovated house. The alumni board was crucial in implementing these improvements. A special thanks to Jon Schroer '90 (G1289) and the alumni board as a whole for making this all possible. The white pillars were faded, chipped, and weak with age. It was decided they were to be replaced with strong new pillars that would bear the weight of the freshly painted portico, our proud Greek letters, and the beautiful stars and stripes we all cherish. Gamma Chapter Goes Green The final large improvement of the summer was the installation of a new high-efficiency boiler. Our old furnace from 1967 was replaced by two Weil McClain Ultra 399 high-efficiency natural gas boilers, which have a combustion efficiency of 91.7%, half the fuel of the old furnace. This was a large and in-depth project as it involved the The portico received a much-needed renovation, complete with new pillars to give the house a rejuvenated spirit. One of the most important aspects of AGRconnect is the new member education program, which is broken down into six modules. Each module is geared toward accomplishing a different goal, whether it is learning house policies and regulations, the meaning of unity and bonding among members, conflict resolution management, or how to be more involved in Greek Life. By integrating the modular system with our current program, we are able to exceed our membership development expectations and continue producing higher quality brothers. Another great feature of AGRconnect is its ability to develop current members. A problem most fraternal organizations experience is the lack of active brother development. The website supplies a learning program for all executive board positions, including risk management and recruitment modules, which promote a more sustainable and well-rounded organization. AGRconnect has truly changed the face of membership development in the most positive manner and will continue to allow each Alpha Gamma Rho chapter to make better men.
