3 alpha gamma rho Gamma Undergraduates Prepared for Successful Semester G Chapter Looks to Get to the Next Level reetings, Alpha Gamma Rho brothers! It has truly been a privilege to represent this chapter as Noble Ruler over the past year and to work with an exceptional executive board. This position has made me a better man, and I can confidently attest that the executive board and I have done our best to work with the brotherhood to make this chapter something all of us can be proud of. We have made a lot of progress over the past year and I am excited to discuss the direction we are heading. House Improvements Made Possible by Alumni In the summer of 2010, thanks to the dedication of brother and former alumni board president Jon Schroer '90 (G1289), Gamma Chapter was graced with remarkable renovations that transformed the house, inside and out, into a beautiful place to call home. Led by VNR Maintenance & Operations Jakob Moore '11 (G1589), we are working diligently to respect the house and maintain its grounds in an impressive and presentable fashion. This was never more evident than when we passed fire inspection last spring with a perfect score on the first time through with the fire marshal. Recruiting the Best and Brightest a Top Priority The physical structure of the house is not the only facet of our brotherhood that has improved over the past few years. The fraternity has a renewed vigor in recruiting ambitious and bright young men. When I first joined in fall 2010, the undergraduate brotherhood consisted of approximately 32 brothers. This past academic year, we recruited 30 brothers and, with the addition of a fall recruitment class, our brotherhood will most likely eclipse 80 brothers. We could not have accomplished this without our outstanding Recruitment Chairmen Ryan Stephenson '10 (G1569) and Kyle Cuba '09 (G1550). The active brotherhood has embraced an all-in mentality to recruit quality individuals who are committed to taking our fraternity to the next level. Gamma Remains Active on Campus I made an effort to refer to our recruits with characteristics like AGR brothers get together after a game. "ambitious" and "quality" because of how well our brotherhood has been establishing its influence around campus. VNR Membership Development Tyler J. McDonough '11 (G1577) has implemented a membership development program that shapes members into respectful young men. Brothers Jordan Rolon '10 (G1570) and Clay Swackhammer '12 (G1602) were elected to the executive boards of the Interfraternal Council and Agricultural Student Council, respectively. In addition, VNR Activities Sean Sweeney '11 (G1587) was recently nominated to represent all of Greek Life as the University Park Undergraduate Association IFC representative. Alumni Come Home to Gamma All of these individual accomplishments have given rise to a united sense of pride in our revitalized brotherhood. The chapter is also proud to welcome back brothers who have graduated to alumni status. VNR Alumni Relations Stylianos Tsinaroglou '10 (G1564) did a great job of organizing the '90s reunion last spring. Not only was the event very well attended and well received, but it also offered alumni an opportunity to feel at home again, as they rightfully should. No saying may be more appropriate for our fraternity at this time than "you reap what you sow." The undergraduate brotherhood has made huge strides over the past few semesters to ensure a continued period of excellence socially, mentally, and morally. Now, we are reaping the harvest of our hard work and are proud to showcase it to all brothers who stop by. So I will leave you all with a challenge to come back to the house. It could be for a football game, Homecoming, Founders' Day, or a random week or weekend day. As long as you come back and see what the brotherhood is up to, I promise you will not be disappointed. Thanks for taking interest in your brotherhood. I hope to see you soon! Fraternally, Ryan D. Lynch '10 (G1565) Noble Ruler (610) 955-4977 rdl5102@psu.edu Legacy brothers at Founders' Day in the spring.
