5 alpha gamma rho Chapter Maps Out Plan for Getting to the Next Level Actives and Graduate Leadership Retreat Key to Accomplishing Goals Brothers, we would like to share with you the specific goals, established at our retreat, for the 2013-14 year: Noble Ruler • Develop a theme for the 2013-14 year. • Lead by example to the rest of the brothers. • Further pursue the possibility of using Nittany Coop for kitchen management. • Discuss with alumni the need for new Great Hall furniture. • Discuss with brotherhood professional cleaners for the bathrooms. • Implement a program that ensures all keys are returned. If not, the brother will forfeit his security deposit. • Develop an election of officer process. • Invite older, informal brother leaders to executive committee meetings. VNR Planning • "All-in" chapter mentality to ensure damage does not occur in the future. VNR Finance • Keep undergraduate budget in the black • Goal is to achieve Chapter of Excellence award. • Work to make more events free to brothers. • Continue to work on new philanthropy programs. • Continue working with Matt Keil '00 (G1446) on perfecting the finances at Gamma. • Check AGR National website for various awards. • Pay back rent to alumni in 2013-2014. • Recommendation on which awards we should apply for. • Ensure that all brothers living in the house sign the fall and spring lease at the beginning of each semester. VNR Membership Development • Establish and confirm rules for living in/ out of house. • New initiates are now called "New Boys." • If a New Boy is expected to do something, existing brothers will also be doing it. • Work with National on a new member program that satisfies National and PSU Greek Life standards. • New Boys will focus on IFC and AGR bylaws. • AGRconnect will be utilized effectively in the New Boy program. VNR Management and Operations • Instill in New Boys as well as all brothers that keeping the house in a prestigious manner is key. • Discuss those rules with Bryan Dillehay (G1638) and have them reviewed at an upcoming house meeting. • Work with Nittany Coop on a location for additional washers and dryers. • Develop a brotherhood schedule for times to use the washers and dryers. VNR Alumni Relations • Continue to work on social media to reach out to alumni. • Members of active chapter reach out to alumni via phone to update them on house information. • Promote having more reunions at the house. • Work to get all alumni on a mass e-mail system, which can be generated from Gamma. • Ensure that all undergraduates get an alternate e-mail to psu.edu. VNR Activities • Promote another large-scale bone marrow drive. • Work to make the Bone Marrow Drive a National AGR philanthropy. • Socially reach out to new organizations, Greek and non-Greek. • Be cognizant of budget to ensure there is enough to go through the entire semester. • To be sure to keep alumni president informed of activities, especially those that use Great Hall. VNR Recruitment • Will strive to always have a minimum of 40 brothers living in the house. • Will look to train someone this semester to continue the recruitment success we have enjoyed over the past few years. • Emphasis on recruiting quality brothers. • Continuing our growth in ag-related majors. • Work on a plan for movement of brothers in and out of house. House Opening and Closedown Plan • Develop a step-by-step house closedown plan for spring semester, detailing responsibilities and actions to be taken. • Develop a step-by-step opening plan for fall semester, detailing responsibilities and actions to be taken. • Establish dates for summer retreat and work sessions.
