Lambda Raises the Roof and

s we welcome 57 new members, it's an exciting time to reflect on the legacy of
Lambda. This summer was a big reminder that maintaining our historic home
while addressing the ever-changing needs of today's college students and providing for
their safety and well-being is a daily job. As we are actively managing the resources for
the physical structure, we are always looking to improve our facility. We talk about the
renovation as if it were yesterday; hard to believe it's been nearly 14 years since much of
that work was done.
Thanks to our loyal alumnae, the Lambda Chapter House saw some significant
improvements this summer. We have raised over $14,000 to date to "raise the roof." It has
been remarkable watching the new slate roof come to life at the same time the university
was upgrading the Jayhawk Boulevard entrance to campus. Lorie Kuchem Bowman '77
was onsite throughout the summer to ensure the roof project was on track. She commented,
"I think the new roundabout design makes our entry even more majestic than before."
Just as many exciting updates were happening inside our home too! The powder room,
back entry, upstairs bathrooms and formal living room have all been redecorated this
summer. Special thanks goes to countless hours put in this past spring and summer by
house corporation members Stacey Satterthwaite Dillon '76 and Tree Lynch Hanna '89.
Thanks to your generosity and support, Chi Omega continues to be the most beautiful
house on the Hill. We invite everyone
Members of the 1930s
to stop by the Chapter House on any
home football game for a tour.
