Authentic German food including bratwurst, German potato salad, cabbage salad, German chocolate cake and sauerkraut will be served. Enjoy a selection of brews, wines and soft drinks in the beer garden. The Redding International Couples Performing Dancers will demonstrate authentic folk and German dances. Oktoberfest ticket prices are $10 for pre-sale, $12 at the door, $5 for ages 6-12 and free to children 5 and younger. Tickets can be purchased at St. Peter's Episcopal Church or by calling 527-5205. Come check it out on Sunday, Sept. 29 as they make their plunge into the Sacramento River at 1 p.m. It's not too late to buy duck tickets. You can purchase tickets from Redding East Rotarians or at the event on Sunday between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The race is a full day of family fun and there is no cost to attend! Rats to Riches will feature hot rods, rat rods and exotic cars. Art in the Park features art created by local artists, along with children's activities on the lawn in front of the League at Carter House. Proceeds from Ducky Derby will be used for substance abuse prevention programs and youth development. A big thank you to all sponsors. Mash avocado in small bowl (should be chunky, not smooth). Add sun-dried tomatoes and half garlic, mix well. Set aside. 2. Combine beef, remaining garlic, 2 tablespoons minced basil leaves and salt in medium bowl, mix lightly but thoroughly. Lightly shape into four 1/2inch thick patties. 3. Heat large nonstick skillet over medium heat until hot. Prowlers • A resident reported seeing people with flashlights at a vacant residence on the 23000 block of Malton Switch Road around 11 p.m. Monday. A deputy contacted four individuals who said they had permission from the property owner, but not written permission nor could they provide the property owner's name. They agreed to leave the area. Turn it down • An 81-year-old woman complained about loud music being played in an orchard. The subjects agreed to turn the music down, but the deputy made note that the "music was not unreasonable for this time of day." Vandalism • A fence was reported damage on Agua Verde Drive.
